ISLAMABAD: Five energy projects with an installed capacity of 2,520 megawatt of electricity have so far been completed under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Sources in Planning Ministry said the 1320 MW Sahiwal Coal Power Project was recently completed at a cost of over one billion dollars, reported state media.
Similarly Hydro China Dawood and Sachal Energy Development wind power projects with 50 MW energy capacity each were completed at a cost of 134 million and 112 million dollars respectively.
Another 100 MW wind power project in Jhimper, Thatta is also operational now and contributing to the national grid. It was completed at a cost of 257 million dollars.
Similarly Quaid-e-Azam Solar Power Park of 300 MW out of 1000 MW in Bahawalpur has also been completed under CPEC at a cost of over one billion dollars.
