WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States Aizaz Chaudhry has said that bilateral ties between Islamabad and New Delhi are facing deadlock.
During a lecture at George Town University with a title of Security and Stability in South Asia, the ambassador said that there is no proper security mechanism in the region that creates problems. He further said that issues between China and India can also destabilize the region, adding that CPEC would not only benefit Pakistan and China but the entire region.
Aizaz Chaudhry said that security control of Pakistan-Afghan border is quite difficult work, urging the Americans to back Islamabad in continuing its effort to manage the border in better way. He stated that there is no military solution of Afghanistan as only political dialogue can resolve the issue. The envoy was of the opinion that Iran and Saudi Arabia both have brotherly ties with Islamabad and it is ready to play its role for resolving issues between them.
