SIALKOT: Law Minister Zahid Hamid's residence in Sialkot was attacked by supporters of religious parties.

According to media report,  attackers were more than 100 in number, vandalised and pelted stones at Hamid's house that is situated in Pasrur near Sialkot. Only a dozen security guards were posted at the house, many of whom were injured in the attack, following which additional security forces were summoned.

The police have arrested more than a dozen protesters that were allegedly involved in the attack from the scene.The law minister's family members were not at the residence at the time of the attack.

Meanwhile, PML-N MNA Javed Latif was injured while he was trying to address protesters in Sheikhupura. His security in-charge and a counsellor were also injured in the attack. Protesters blocked roads and demonstrated at Karachi's Numaish traffic intersection in the city's busy Saddar area in the morning.

A large number of religious parties also took out rallies and staged demonstrations in Umerkot, Mithi, Sujawal and other towns of lower Sindh to register their protest against the ongoing operation against the protesters in Islamabad. They vowed to continue their peaceful protests.
