ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has submitted its report in the apex court in suo moto notice case on deforestation and blasting at Margalla hills.

The authority viewed in submitted report that action was being taken against the officers who committed negligence and also cleared that first these officers suspended.

The officers who committed negligence were included DG Environment Sheikh Suliman, Director Muhammad Irshad and Rana Tahir.

It further stated in report that a letter has been written for taking action against former deputy director land Abdul Islam.

It stated that authority also took action against illegal housing schemes in Margalla hills and number of cases was registered against the owners of housing schemes.

It was also clarified in report that proper approval has been sought from environment department for construction of a road at embassy road.

According to report as many as 2500 new trees would be planted on embassy road.

However, the suo moto notice case on deforestation hearing will start today Thursday. Two member bench of apex court headed by Justice Azmat Saeed will hear the case.
