ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has given forgiveness to accused involved in PTV sex scandal case.
A document available with Online told that female cameraperson has had filed petition in the Federal Ombudsman about her sexually harassment. In her complaint, she alleged that PTV employees Osama Azhar and Saif Azhar not only abused her but made a bid to inflict her physically.
She further alleged that other employees including Noman Niaz, Wasim, Saeed Akhtar, Munawar, Farkhanda Shaheen, Murtaza, Afzal Chaudhry and Asif were backing the accused. She also nominated these accused in the petition given to Federal Ombudsman.
The Federal Ombudsman Justice (R) Yasmeen Abbasi conducted hearing on the complaint and gave verdict on October 16, 2017. Accused Osama Azhar and Saif Azhar and other accomplices were awarded with Rs 1 lac fine and forfeiting of two years service. After this, accused filed an appeal before President of Pakistan, Mamoon Hussain and after repeated appeals and hearings, the accused were liberated from the charges.
The affected woman talking to Online said she will also approach to President House, in this regard. She said she will also file an appeal that her case was not understood well while name of accused father, Azhar Lodhi was also written in the verdict, which was violation of the constitution. Sources told that number of inquiries related to corruption, nepotism and other crimes are under hearing in PTV and the said persons were involved in those inquiries.
