ISLAMABAD: Following the completion of cross questioning of prosecution witnesses in flagship and Even field references against former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and his daughter of  Maryam Nawaz; Accountability Court (AC) Islamabad has adjourned the hearing of these  references till January 23.

Judge Muhammad Bashir Khan of AC No 1 Islamabad took up for hearing references against Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz.

Former PM Nawaz Sharif appeared in the court. The statement of prosecution witness Afaq Ahamd could not be fully recorded being the original record in Supreme Court (SC).

Counsel for Sharif Family, Khawaja Haris while cross questioning Nasir Janjua, prosecution witness in Flagship reference asked him if he was included in flagship inquiry.

Janua told he was included and investigation officer recorded his statement in flagship reference and this all was done on     August, 21, 2017.

The defence counsel asked from second prosecution witness Umar Daraz if he had written in his report that call of notice pertained to what case.

He said that he had not got noted that call of notice related to what case and he had informed security guard verbally about call of notice.  

He further told that he had taken notice with both the times and he had got these notices received from security guard Muhammad Arif.

KhAWAJA  Haris said you had just now said that you filed receipts separately with  investigation officer and there is contradiction in your statement with reference to filing of receipts separately.

NAB prosecutor requested the court that first of all statement of Wajid Zia be recorded.

The learned judge remarked OK, we will call Wajid Zia on next hearing.
Khawaja Haris said statements of other witnesses have yet to be recorded.
The hearing of the case was adjourned till January 23.
