TAXILA: Former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has categorically said that he cannot work under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

“I am not a political orphan to call my junior as sir or madam”, he said this while addressing a news conference here at Kohistan House. “I have decided to remain active politically within the party”, he added.

Chaudhry Nisar said has never violated party discipline, adding it was not possible for him to continue politics of hypocrisy. He said he tolerated many things and now decided to put himself at side.  “I wrote a letter to Nawaz Sharif and gave some valuable inputs but there suggestions were not implemented”, he added.

Former Interior Minister said he prefers to hold discussion within party, adding he said some concerns and reservations about running party affairs. He said that he had never criticized Maryam Nawaz or Nawaz Sharif and had just said that he could not work under the children as it was against his dignity.

“ I was comfortable in working with Nawaz Sharif and his brother Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif but refused to continue under supervision of Maryam”, he added. He said it will be decided after the elections that who will be the next Prime Minister. It is premature to say, in this regard. He alleged that attacks were being made through media, saying personal attacks on judges would worsen the issues.

Chaudhry Nisar Ali said use of abusive language in the war of rating has become a practice. ‘We, the politicians call ourself Saadiq and Aamin and others as thieves”, he added.   He threatened to public the Dawn Leaks report if the PML-N would not convene the central executive committee meeting to discuss the issue. He said that Dawn Leaks is a matter of sensitive nature.

He said that he is considered as a critique of Nawaz Sharif and had given his critical views in the cabinet meeting. “My suggestions in Panama case are on record,” he said.

Speaking regarding recent divisions among MQM-P ranks, the PML-N stalwart said that division at such level in any party should be a matter of concern for anybody. He, however, hoped that MQM is a political party and would soon resolve its issues.

The former interior minister went on to say that a person, who has never contested an election, can never become a politician. He added that the party will suffer if there is personal enmity between workers and leaders. He asked that why former special assistant to prime minister on foreign affairs Tariq Fatemi made to resign when he was not mentioned in the Dawn Leaks.
