RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s warplanes on Saturday pounded militant hideouts in North Waziristan, killing 22 and injuring many others.

According to reports, the strikes were carried out in Shawall Valley area of the tribal belt where several militant hideouts were also destroyed.

Pakistan army has been waging a war against local and foreign militants in North Waziristan agency as part of Operation Zarb-e-Azb launched since June last year following a deadly attack on Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport that killed over 30 people.
