ISLAMABAD: New US envoy to Pakistan David Hale met Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi on Monday and both exchanged views on matters of regional and global importance.

According to Foreign Office (FO), Fatemi congratulated Hale on assumption of his new office and they also discussed ways and means for further fortifying the bilateral ties between Pakistan and the US.

Fatemi said that abiding partnership between Pakistan and US was very vital for both of the countries and Pakistan was eager to promote better and friendly relationship with the US.  

Hale said that he would work for bolstering the bilateral ties between the two countries.

“The US-Pakistan relations will continue to head towards positive direction and the US wants robust ties with Pakistan,” he added. The US ambassador also said that Pakistan’s sacrifices against terrorism were laudable.
