ISLAMABAD: Local Government (LG) Elections have changed the political scenario of Islamabad by ending the differences between Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and Haji Nawaz Khokar group.
As per results, Haji Nawaz Khokar group has come closer to PML-N because the former won numeral from Islamabad and PML-N will need Khokar’s support to introduce its mayor in capital. Consequently, former Senator Zafar Ali Shah and Chaudhry Ashraf Gujjar have tilted towards Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar group.
It is worth mentioning here that Haji Nawaz Khokar group and Chaudhry Nisar does not have good terms since long. The latter accuses former as land mafia and axis of evil.
Credible sources reported that terms have been finalized between PML-N leadership and Haji Nawaz Khokar group which can threatens the politics of Chaudhry Nisar.
In current political situation, Haji Nawaz Khokar, Doctor Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Anjum Aqeel khan and MNA Malik Ibrar are on one side whereas the other group comprise of Chaudhry Nisar, Zafar Ali Shah, Ashraf Gujjar and Malik Shuja Al Rehman. It clearly highlights the differences in PML-N leaders.
Moreover, the elections have proved that Pakistan People Party (PPP) is no more in the battle ground whereas the field is left to PML-N, PTI and independent contenders.
