ISLAMABAD: Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid told Senate on Wednesday that census will be held under army’s supervision in March, next year.
Answering questions raised by Senator Sehr Kamran, Hamid told the upper house that it was decided by the Council for Common Interests on March 18, 2015 that the next population census will be carried out under army in March 2016. He said that a first meeting in this regard took place on October 29 and initial funds have been released in this regard.
The minister further told the house that the government acquired loans of $27.96 billion from State Bank of Pakistan, commercial banks, national saving schemes and other lenders from June 2013 to October 2015.
