ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has ordered for verification of thumb impression of voters in the constituency of Khawaja Asif, defence minister NA-110 Sialkot and has sought report thereof from NADRA within 3 months.
The court also ordered that the expenses of the verification of thumb impression would be borne by Usman Dar from PTI.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Anwar Zaheer Jamali took up the case for hearing Tuesday.
Talking to media men outside the SC, Khawaja Asif said that he had been elected MNA for five times and he was not afraid of verification of thumb impression process in any way. He had been elected by the people, he remarked.
Dr Babar Awan counsel for Usman Dar said SC had ordered for verification of thumb impressions of all the voters in NA-110. This job has to be done by NADRA and he hopes matters would go against Khawaja Asif, he added.
