ISLAMABAD: A constitutional petition seeking imposition of governor rule in Sindh has been filed in Supreme Court (SC).
The petition was filed by Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi on Friday making government of Sindh, chief minister Sindh, interior minister, information minister, Dr Asim, Moula Bakhsh Chandio, Nisar Khoro, Sindh police and 16 institutions and personnel respondents.
The petitioner has taken the plea Sindh government is engaged in enacting strange legislation daily to save one person. Political temperature in the country is heating up due to clash between federation and Sindh on the issue of Rangers powers
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Anwar Zaheer Jamali has himself said that intervention of judiciary becomes inevitable if some institution oversteps its powers. SC can decide about the conflicts between federation and provinces. Therefore, orders be issued on this matter too. Governor rule be imposed in Sindh so that Rangers could conduct forceful operation against terrorists, he prayed.
