KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that peace in Karachi will be restored at every cost and the ongoing operation will continue till the elimination of the last terrorist.
He said this while talking in an informal meeting held at PAF airbase here on Friday on the law and order situation in Karachi. Governor Sindh Ishratul Ibad, chief minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, information minister Senator Pervez Rashid, DG Rangers, IG Sindh and others were also present.
The meeting continued for one hour and DG Rangers and IG Sindh gave briefing to PM on the law and order situation and Karachi operation. The PM was also briefed about the achievements made in Karachi operation. The PM expressed satisfaction over the headway made in the Karachi operation saying sacrifices rendered by security forces will not go waste. “People are happy over the Karachi operation and atmosphere of fear no more prevails in the city. Peace of Karachi will be restored fully. Karachi operation will continue till restoration of complete peace and tranquillity in city of Quaid,” he said.
He reiterated his resolve that “we will eliminate facilitators of the terrorists from across the country. Security forces should complete investigations soon in the light of revelations made by arrested terrorists. The federal government will extend full cooperation to provincial government for restoration of peace in Karachi”.
