LAHORE: Two organizations of private schools have announced a two-day strike in the whole province against Punjab Education Authority Bill passed by the provincial assembly a week ago.
Under the announcement, the All Pakistan Private Schools Federation and the Pakistan Education Council said that private school in the province will remain closed on March 8 and March 9.
Meanwhile, the All Pakistan Private School Association President Adeeb Jawdani distanced itself from the strike call given by the two representative bodies.
The bill aims to regulate the private schools and bars them to increase in fee without bringing it to the notice of higher authorities. The bill also strictly restrains private schools from asking the students to buy uniform or books from any specific shop.
