ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal says China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will integrate China, South Asia and Central Asia through enhanced and improved regional connectivity.

Speaking at Bao Forum in China, he said the project will create an integrated economic block of three billion people.

Ahsan Iqbal said out of forty-six billion dollars, thirty-five billion dollars would be invested in energy projects and eleven billion on infrastructure development projects.

He said this investment will push Pakistan in the category of fast emerging economies of the world. He said transfer of technology under CPEC is on important part of this project.       

The Minister said CPEC projects are environment friendly and will help develop national economy on modern lines.

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman National Development and Reform Commission of China has bestowed the title of "Star Minister" of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor upon Ahsan Iqbal.
