ISLAMABAD: The leader of Pakistan People Party (PPP) and former Interior Minister Senator Rehman Malik has categorically denied of any connection of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, Hussain Ali Jaffery and his with Petro Line offshore Company.  
While talking to media persons outside parliament house, he said that there is no truth in the news being propagated by a section of media with illicit motives.  He said that Panama Leaks is being introduced in Pakistan in different ways claimed of absolute disconnection of his family with offshore companies.

He said that a news item was aired on private TV channel which had mentioned connection of Benazir Bhutto, Hussain Ali Jaffery and my (Rehman Malik) with Petrol Line Offshore Company, while we have no connection with it. “We have no connection with this company mentioned in baseless news” he added.

Former Interior Minister however admitted that they had submitted an application to purchase it but it was not approved by the concerned officials as in 2001, this company was purchased by someone. As many as 1335 small companies were linked with Petro Line Company’ he added.

He further said that we had attached fee approximately 4.05 pound (Sterling) with application, which has been refunded adding that we have commenced legal proceeding against it. “I have my own companies present in UK but neither they offshore nor I have transferred my money abroad”, Malik clarified.

Replying to a question, he said that Indian Prime Minister has himself admitted the alleged involvement of India in East Pakistan fall and appeal to the government to hold a protest on the execution of Amir Jamiat-e-Islami in Bangladesh as it was a punishment of support of Pakistan. “The matters should be brought in the parliament and condemned it”, Malik suggested.
