KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday issued orders to remove model Ayyan Ali’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
The model had filed a contempt of court petition in the SHC over re-inclusion of her name in the ECL.
Her plea stated that the government has committed contempt of court by refusing to implement the SHC and Supreme Court’s orders for removing her name from the ECL.
The petitioner had requested the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the authorities and allow her to travel abroad.
The government in response to the plea adopted stance that Ayyan’s name was removed from the ECL in accordance with the orders of the court but her name was re-included in the ECL after being a defaulter.
After reviewing the arguments from both parties, the court allowed Ayyan to travel abroad and directed the authorities to remove her name from the ECL.
