ISLAMABAD: The Move On Pakistan party chief Mian Kamran was taken into custody from a guest house in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Kamran, whose party had put controversial posters in several cities including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi and Hyderabad imploring the army chief to take over, had been hiding from authorities to get pre-arrest bail from a court after the Islamabad police registered an FIR against him.

Police sources said that Kamarn was taken into custody from a guest house in Sector F-6/1 before he was shifted to an undisclosed lactation for investigation.

The posters drew a knee-jerk reaction from political parties including the ruling party and several leaders demanded Kamran’s immediate arrest besides exposing those pushing him to do so. Soon after the appearance of banners, almost all political parties threw their weight behind the ruling party assuring it of unflinching support for continuity of democracy.
