ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has rejected appeal pleas filed by 16 terrorists against death penalty awarded by military courts to them and upheld the decision of military courts.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Anwar Zaheer Jamali read out the decision on the appeal pleas filed by 16 terrorists which was reserved earlier. .
The court declaring military courts decisions correct upheld them. The death convicts were found involved in attacks on parade line, Bannu jail and army public school and several others terror related attacks.
Appeal pleas against the military courts decisions were filed in SC and a larger 5 members bench of SC presided over by CJP had heard these appeals.
The cou4tr had reserved judgement on June 20 after hearing counsels for the parties concerned.
Qari Zubair, Haider Ali, Qari Zahir Gul, Atiqur Rehman, Taj Muhammad, Aqsan Mehmood, Fateh Muhammad, Sher Alam, Faiz Muhammad, Muhammad Arbi, Muhammad Ghouri, Tahir Mehmood, Fazal Ghafar, Saeeduz Zaman and Sakhi Mehmood among 16 are to be hanged.
The milita4ry courts had awarded death penalty to the terrorists after their involvement in attacks on jail parade line, army public school, military convoys and installations was proved in the court.
