NEW DELHI: The Indian Supreme Court on Monday rejected petition seeking the court’s orders for declaring Indus Water Treaty (IWT) unconstitutional.  

A two members bench of Indian SC comprising  Chief Justice TS Thakur and justice A M Khanwilkar took up the plea for hearing Monday.

The petition was filed by advocate M L Sharma saying the treaty was constitutional as it was not signed as per the constitutional scheme

Indian SC while rejecting the plea remarked that this treaty should be kept from political tension.
