GUJRANWALA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s member of Punjab Assembly (MPA) Rana Shamshad was shot dead along with his son and a party worker in Kamoki on Sunday evening.
The PML-N leader was targeted near Raja Bhaley by veiled gunmen travelling in a black car on his way back from his farmhouse in Kamoke, Gujranwala.
The deceased received as many as 10 bullets and died on the spot. His son Ahmed and aide Shakir got seriously injured, who later succumbed to their wounds.
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident of murder of Rana Shamshad MPA of Muslim League-N and his son in Kamonki, Gujranwala and sought a report from Inspector General Police Punjab.
The Chief Minister directed that the accused involved in firing incident should be immediately arrested and legal action be taken against them.
The Chief Minister has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of Rana Shamshad and his son due to firing and expressed sympathies and condolences with the bereaved family.
He said that the incident of murder of Rana Shamshad and his son is very deplorable. He said that police should immediately bring the culprits before law.
