CAIRNS: Members of Pakistan cricket team observed a minute of silence at Cazaly’s Stadium in Cairns on Thursday before beginning their tour match against Cricket Australia XI.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight number 661 crashed near Abbottabad while travelling from Chitral to Islamabad, killing all passengers and crew members on board.
Later on, Fast-bowler Mohammad Amir produced a magical spell as Pakistan ended their first of the three-day tour match against CA XI on a better note.

The left-armer picked three wickets in his two overs against CA XI, where he claimed the first two in first two deliveries, whereas fellow pacer Rahat Ali picked one scalp as the hosts finished the opening day on the score of three for four in reply of visitors 208 in their first innings.

Earlier, Pakistan had another disappointing outing with the bat after captain Misbahul Haq won the toss and opted to bat first.

The Green Caps were clearly in trouble right from the beginning, with only veteran Younus Khan making a notable contribution of 54 off 138 balls, which included four boundaries.
