KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued stay order against  the removal of IG Sindh Allah .Dino (AD)  Khawaja and issued notices to federal and provincial governments and AD Khawaja .

The petition filed against sending  A.D Khawaja on forced leave came up for hearing in SHC Wednesday.

The petitioner took the plea that A.D Khawaja was officer of good repute and he made appointments in Sindh police on merit. He has been removed from his post  and sent on forced leave for pursuing norms of merit.

Senator Saeed Ghani advisor to Sindh chief minister in recent days had said in a private TV talk show that AD Khawaja should not return to his post in this situation. It means  that AD Khawaja is  being removed from his office.

The Sindh High Court  restrained the provincial government from sending Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khawaja on “forced leave.

A.D Khawaja took over  charge as IG SIndh eight months back and  during his tenure differences  developed between Khwaja and leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) over professional matters, following which he was sent on forced leave. Mushtaq Mehr Additional IG Sindh  has been given additional responsibilities of IG in place of AD Khawaja.

Further hearing of the case will take place on January, 12.
