LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) – 2017 would definitely be held in Lahore.

This has been decided after a meeting of the PCB management with all the franchises of the PSL here on Monday. The decision has widely been welcomed by cricket lovers and former players in Pakistan.

Among various administrative and event discussions, all the team owners took time to reinforce their solidarity and conviction with the decision of taking the Final of the PSL back to its rightful home, the Gaddafi Cricket Stadium, Lahore, also the head office of both the Pakistan Cricket Board and the PSL.

“It has been heart-warming to see the dedication of all the owners to the cause of taking cricket back home and there is a realisation that this final will be the first step in opening the gates to international teams starting to make the journey again.  

We are all committed to this mission and wish to have a thoroughly entertaining final where it should happen - in Lahore,” said Sethi while speaking of the meeting.

According to media reports, as many as 50 players are ready to visit Pakistan for the final of PSL, if picked. An additional amount of $10,000 to $50,000 will be paid to players who are ready to tour Pakistan.

It stated in reports, Chris Gayle, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawerdene, have refused to visit Pakistan for the final while Peshawar Zalmi captain Darren Sammy and bowler Chris Jordan are ready to come to Pakistan.
