CHARSADDA: At least 5 persons including 4 police personnel were martyred and 15 others were injured in 3 suicide blasts outside Kutchery gate in Tehsil Tangi of district Charsada Tuesday.

Police personnel gunned down two suicide attackers on the spot while the third attacker blew him up.

Three suicide bombers attempted to enter the District Court Gate located in Tangi area of Charsadda, however, the police personnel gunned-down two suicide bombers on Tuesday.  The remaining one suicide bomber blew him up and resultantly five persons including four police personnel were martyred  while 15 others were injured.

The bodies and injured were rushed to Tehsil Tangi Headquarters Hospital.    

DPO Charsadda Sohail Khalid said that three suicide bombers attempted to attack the District Court, however the Security Forces shot dead two bombers, while one blew himself up. The bombers also hurled grenades.  

He further said that the security forces saved the city from major disaster by killing the terrorists. Three to four personnel were martyred. The rescue operation is underway, while the security forces cordoned-off the area and started search operation.

He also said that all the judges, lawyers and district court staff remained safe in the incident.

KP Health Minister Shahram Khan Tarakai said emergency had been declared in  hospitals in the district. “It’s too early to speak about nature of the blast, we are investigating the incident and will inform the media accordingly,” said the minister.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Shaukat Yousafzai said according to his information the militants had come from Mohmand Agency.

"Security institutions are alert in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa," Yousafzai said.
Meanwhile, a report surfacing in media mentioned that the responsibility of terrorist attack at District Court Charsadda has claimed by Jamaat-ul-Ahrar.

Meanwhile President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, CM KP Pervez Khattak, PTI Chairman Imran Khan JI Amir Siraj-ul-Haq PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and all other senior political have condemned the blast and paid tribute to Police Force for foiling the terror bid.
