ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's national hockey team has left for  the tour of New Zealand and Australia.

The national team will play bilateral test series in both the countries. As per the FIH rankings, Australia is currently the world's top hockey country while New Zealand is at the 8th place.

The experience gained during these two series would help Pakistan prepare for  the all important Hockey World League's semi finals to be held in London in June this year which doubles up as the 2018 World Cup qualifier.

Abdul Haseem Khan is the captain of the team and Umar Bhutta is the vice captain.
During the tour of New Zealand natio nal hockey team would  play first three test matches on 17 March 18 March and 20th March respectively  at Wellington.

While Fourth and fifth test match of the series  would be played on 22 March and 23 March Wairarapa, Clareville.

In the tour to Australia Pakistani hockey team would play four test matches on 28 March, 29 March, 31 March and 1 April at Darwin .
