ISLAMABAD: The backdoor contacts between ruling PML-N and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was still going on as PML-N has withdrawn its demand for formation of parliamentary commission on the matter of Hussain Haqqani, it was revealed.

As per media reports, the distance between ruling PML-N and PPP were being reduced as the contacts were going on between PM and PPP on prevailing political situation of the country and other affairs.

According to the sources both the leaders have contacted with each other on previous day. After the disclosure of Hussain Haqqani, the Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif expressed annoyance in it.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari commenting on this issue said that if parliamentary commission is formed on the matter of Hussain Haqqani then parliamentary commissions should be formed on all cases from 1999, however both the leaders have shown consensus to adopt the policy of reconciliation in this regard.

The PML-N has withdrawn the demand of parliamentary commission on Hussain Haqqani issue and Speaker NA Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has handed over the matter to Standing Committee.
