Sources said that Chinese diplomats who were invited to attend the briefing regarding CPEC in Ministry of Planning have stunned to witness the large number of ruling PML-N activists of social media team than employees of Ministry in the briefing. The Chinese diplomats have expressed their concern over the presence of these party activists. To remove their concerns, employees of ministry were invited in the meeting.

“The party activists present in the meeting with Chinese diplomats have endorsed that they were invited by Asim Khan Niazi, special assistant to Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, who is also spokesperson of ruling PML-N”, sources added.

The access to sensitive information about CPEC by third party is not possible without written permission of top leadership of both sides as per bilateral agreement of CPEC.

Credible sources said that Asim Khan Niazi had distributed some Rs 8 lac among the members of social media team from the total expenditure of CPEC summit expo vision 2025 held in Pak-China Friendship last year.

Online, when attempted to contact with Asim Khan Niazi to know his stance in this regard, he did not bother to attend the call.
