KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has challenged in Sindh High Court (SHC) the process of holding population census by federal government .

PPP senator Farhat Ullah Babar  filed a petition  in SHC Monday challenging the process of population census.

The petitioner took the plea that government should allay the reservations of all segments  over census after stopping this process  temporarily because if government didn’t address the concerns of all provinces then it will not be good for the country and also for the federation.

Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had expressed their reservations over population census earlier and it is basic demand of PPP that the whole process of conducting census should be transparent.

Federal government and Pakistan Bureau of Statistics  have been made respondents in the petition.
