ISLAMABAD: Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Saturday urged the government to avoid making any increase in gas tariff as it would jack-up cost of doing business.
Chairman FPCCI Regional Standing Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Khawar Rashid said the increase would hamper the growth of manufacturing sector that was already facing a number of internal and external challenges, according to press statement issued on Saturday.
Khawar Rashid said that even a slight raise in the cost of production, at this critical juncture, would oust Pakistani merchandise from international export market which would deprive the exchequer of much-needed valuable foreign exchange to the tune of billions of dollars.
