ISLAMABAD: Nawaz government started efforts to bring ‘rebellious’ Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada back to ruling party camp.

Pirzda on Friday resigned from his post in protest against removal of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Director General Dr Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera.

Pirzada also hurled allegations of corruption on Prime Minister’s (PM) principal secretary and stated that his authority was curtailed.

“PM’s principal secretary is interfering in my work and is doing rampant corruption. I am not being allowed to perform official duties as my authority has been cut short”, pronounced disgruntled Pirzada.

Federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and PM Special Assistant Asif Karmani met sulk Riaz Hussain Pirzada at his residence on Friday to eradicate his grievances.

Representatives of the government tell Riaz Pirzada that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif values his honest and stainless personality.

Pirzada told the delegation about his grievances and concerns.

On Wednesday, the federal government suspended DG PSB Dr Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera for three months without citing any reason in its notification. Despite repeated attempts to contact PM Nawaz, Pirzada, who is believed to be supporting Ganjera against forceful suspension, did not receive any positive response, leaving him with no other option but to resign.

Saad Rafique and Karmani assured Pirzada that his grievances would be addressed.
