JHELUM: At least four persons have been injured when a passenger van hit an explosive IED Device planted by terrorists at roadside in Chakothi sector on Line of Control (LoC) in Muzaffarabad.

Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Abdul Hamid said that a passenger van (LES-8021) was carrying passengers from Rawalpindi to Jhelum when the van hit an IED device planted on a roadside near Chakothi sector on Sunday night, hence, device exploded, leaving four persons injured.

The injured were rushed to CMH Muzaffarabad for medical treatment. The doctors said that two among the injured are critical condition.

The injured were identified as Driver Arham Abass, passengers Mukhtar Ahmed, Chengez Lateef, and Rahmat Hussain.

Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Abdul Hamid said that The Pakistan Army and local administration did not conduct any search operation in the area as an Indian checkpost has been setup very close to the area. He further said that another blast took place after one hour, however, no casualty was reported.
