ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister (PM) announcement regarding distribution of cash prize to players of winning Pakistan Cricket Team in champion’s trophy has been challenged in Islamabad High Court (IHC).
A petitioner has filed a petition in IHC while taking the plea that why a huge amount of Rs 220 million which has been collected as tax from people is being distributed among national players while they are paid salaries and matches fees. Therefore court should issue a stay order and restrain PM Nawaz Sharif from distributing tax money among the players.
During the course of hearing, Justice Amir Farooq of IHC remarked “ tell us PM can distribute how much money among the players and under what law?
The court has sought legal assistance from deputy attorney general regarding money distribution.
The court while issuing directives for presenting the concerned laws before it adjourned the hearing till Tuesday.
