PESHAWAR: At least five persons were killed and 30 other injured in rain-related incidents in different areas of Peshawar early on Thursday.
Rescue and police sources said that heavy rains couple with gushing wind wreaked havoc in several parts of Peshawar, causing collapse of walls and roofs. The injured were rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital for medical treatment while the dead were buried without medico-legal formalities. The identity of the victims and the injured could not be ascertained immediately.
Meanwhile, rainwater entered homes in low-lying areas of Gulbahar while several vehicles caught fire at a taxi stand in Qazi Kalle due to lightning.
