ISLAMABAD: All Opposition parties of the country are at odds over the PM’s resignation as most of the political parties are demanding the PM’ Sharif resignation while the Awami National Party (ANP) and Aftab Sherpao said that demand for resignation is before the time and maintained “ we should wait the verdict of SC.

The leaders from the opposition parties held a meeting at Khursheed Shah’s chamber at the Parliament House.

Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khurshid Shah said the JIT has blew the lid off three generations of the Sharif family. “The nation is demanding of the PM to resign,” he said. “Democracy should prevail and the PM should resign.”

Meanwhile, Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed suggested that opposition forces should refuse to acknowledge Nawaz Sharif as the Leader of the House in National Assembly.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi said our bone of contention is not with any party, but anyone against whom evidence is found should be sent home.
“Democratic forces are united,” he said. “We will support all decisions of the Supreme Court. People within the government are raising their voice against the PM.”

Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Sirajul Haq said JIT has carried an ‘ultrasound’ and its results call for the PM’s resignation. “No one should be above the law,” he said. “Is Pakistan is the body, democracy is its soul.”

The opposition leaders who were at the party include the PPP's Aitezaz Ahsan, Sherry Rehman, the PTI's Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Shireen Mazari, Aftab Sherpao, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Siraj-ul-Haq, Sheikh Rashid and Ghulam Ahmed Bilour.

Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Sherpao said that ANP and QWP, however, wished to wait for the Supreme Court (SC) decision before deciding on calling for the PM's resignation, but added that they agreed with the opposition on the other demands, including unconditional support for the SC.

The leader of Awami Muslim League Shaikh Rasheed Ahmed said that all opposition parties has proved that they want to strengthen the democracy in the country while Nawaz Sharif, to whom JIT put into hot water, wants to damage it.

Farooq Sattar leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan said that every PM should be Prime Minister on ethical basis but Nawaz Sharif has lost this moral justification to be a Prime Minister of the country so adding that he {Nawaz Sharif} should resign immediately.

It is worth mentioning here that Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had said during a parliamentary meeting held on Friday that “Not a single sentence of the JIT report gives a clue that Nawaz Sharif is guilty of corruption”.

PM said that he had faced all the challenges against him and had remained steadfast to his stance and ideology in the past, and would continue to do so.

The national economy could have done even better had it not been for the continuous conspiracies of anarchist political elements, added the premier.
