LAHORE: Judicial Activism Panel & Civil Society Network has decided to file contempt of court petition against Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and all others.
This decision was taken in a meeting held here Thursday. It announced to file contempt of court petition against those who during the so-called rally headed by disqualified Member of Pakistan Muslim League (N) and a Member of National Assembly namely Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in their speeches committed a Contempt by using derogatory and contemptuous language against the Judges of Supreme Court of Pakistan, said a press release.
It said, hence the said action(s) are not only a contempt of court within the meaning of Article 204 of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973 read with Section 3 of the Contempt of Court Ordinance, 2003 for which punishment is provided under Section 5 of Contempt of Court Ordinance, 2003.
Similarly the action(s) of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and others are Sedition (Baghawat) and war against the Institution(s) which is punishable under Section 123-A read with Section 124-A of Pakistan Penal Code and other provisions of Pakistan Penal Code and other Laws in field.
It has been unanimously decided that on behalf of Civil Society Network a contempt petition against Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and others will be filed by tomorrow.
It is also demanded that Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Shahid Khaqan Abassi shall take immediate remedial steps including house-detentions and registration of cases against the above actions.
