ISLAMABAD: Chairman, Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has made it clear that his party was standing with democracy not PML-N.

Talking to media persons here Friday, he said he would not respond if Nawaz Sharif will contact him. He said there was no threat to system, adding if there was any threat it was to personal interests of Nawaz Sharif. “We have never provided help to Nawaz Sharif but did all for the sake of democracy”, he added.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Nawaz Sharif has no links with democracy while PPP was with the democracy.  He said Nawaz Sharif wanted to hide behind the ideology of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. He said Panama issue was aimed at targeting the ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif but it was an international issue.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari alleged when Nawaz Sharif was enjoying the power, Charter of Democracy (CoD) never came into his mind. He alleged Nawaz Sharif was utilizing state resources, adding he (Nawaz) was playing role of the Opposition despite ruling over the country. He said Nawaz Sharif is allegedly contempting the court in his addresses.

About the future plans, Bilawal told that he and ex-President both will contest in the next general elections. He said PPP has launched Faisal Mir in NA 120. He said values equal to all citizens and giving them political, social and economic rights following constitution of 1973. “We are ready for elections if these are held today”, he added. He said PPP has accelerated masses contact drive and will continue playing its political role.  What is Accountability Bill of Khyber Pakhtoon Khwa (KPK)?, he posed a question. Is it not the political right of Sindh to have its own Bill. He said NAB was involved in black-mailing of people. He said if bill was moved to repeal article 62 and 63, it would not benefit Nawaz Sharif.

He justified that during the last election, Co-Chairman Asif Zardari was confined to President House, which hindered election campaign. He said there was no threat to PTI, PML-N and JI but PPP was on the target of terrorists. He said terrorists did not allow PPP to run its election drive. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said PPP considers minorities as equal citizens of the country and also defends their political, social and economic rights.
