QUETTA: At least fifteen people have been killed and several others injured in an explosion in a busy neighbourhood of Quetta Saturday night. The blast went off at the busy Pishin Chowk triggering a fire on several vehicles parked nearby.

A security cordon has been thrown around the area. Police are not sure about the nature of the explosion as bomb disposal squad has been called in.

According to media reports, the target was a vehicle of security forces.

Officials say that 15 people have been killed in the attack, including seven civilians while 25 people are injured including 15 civilians.

The injured are being provided medical assistance in CMH Quetta.

The condition of more than five people is critical.

Sarfraz Bugti while speaking to media said that it is to be decided that the explosion was carried out by remote control or it was a suicide attack.

Windows of buildings in the neighbourhood have been shattered by the thud of the blast.
