ISLAMABAD: Auditor General of Pakistan has told the Public Accounts Committee that Intelligence Bureau is not providing record of expenditure of secret fund of 890 million rupees.

He said that audit authorities  demanded the record of expenditures of 890 million rupees from the public exchequer  as it was the legal responsibility of AGP’s office .

Auditor General of Pakistan has written to head of Intelligence Bureau to provide relevant documents pertaining to the secret fund of 890 million including include cash books, vouchers of payment, details of bank accounts, bank record, cheque books, bill, name of recipients of the said fund. The expenditures were made during 2011-15.
Supreme Court took suo moto notice on the matter and banned to expend more money out of secret fund. However Supreme Court had not given waiver of audit of the expended sum.

In reply head of Intelligence Bureau to PAC Secretariat mentioned that Additional Secretary of Finance Ministry had reviewed the 890 million expenditure  and given the clean chit to the department.

In addition to this Cabinet Secretary has also thoroughly reviewed the expenditure and given certificate for it.
