ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has given has given last chance to Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) for filing details of party foreign funding till September 18.

ECP while announcing  reserved judgment in PTI foreign funding case remarked that if PTI fails to provide details of foreign funds till September 18 then the petition of Akbar S Babar would be accepted as correct.  

Chief Election Commissioner remarked that Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf has considered ECP as arena  of wrestling, counsels are being replaced again and again, One day, one Counsel comes for hearing and second day another.

ECP five members bench presided over by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza  took up the PTI foreign funding case for hearing on Monday.

During the course of hearing, upon non-appearance of senior counsels, junior counsel Saqlain Haider from PTI and Ahmad Hassan from petitioner Akbar S Babar appeared before ECP.

Ahmad Hassan informed ECP that an interim judgment of High Court has  come in PTI foreign funding case and Election Commission directed PTI during previous hearing  that it should submit all details of party foreign funding till next hearing but it has failed to do it so far.

He prayed to ECP that it should issue orders to PTI for filing details of foreign funding on their plea Hassan further said that they sought details of registration and certificates from PTI in foreign funding.

“We want all evidences about foreign funding that if even Rs 10 which were  given to PTI had either  come  Pakistan or not.

Chief Election Commissioner remarked, when will the detailed judgment of high court  come?

He further remarked that it was stated in the judgment that ECP would not provide details of PTI foreign funding to any other respondent.

PTI Counsel said that the counsel of Akbar S Babar is wasting the precious time of ours.

On it chief election commission while smiling remarked, “ PTI is wasting our time for the last four years”.

He said on previous hearing, PTI counsel Faisal Chaudhry assured ECP about submitting all details of party foreign funding on next hearing that has not been submitted yet.

On it PTI counsel said that Islamabad High Court has ordered to file details within two weeks.

Female member election commission Irshad Qaisar remarked that time of two weeks had not been given for filing reply .

Chief Election commission while expressing displeasure over it remarked, “you want  that we  should stop to  issue notices to you and give judgment while sitting at office.
He said PTI has submitted party foreign funding details in Supreme Court (SC) that means they have details of party foreign funding.

Does prolonging  case not mean that PTI wants that Election Commission should not hear this case ?

After lapse of three years, it could not be found  that PTI stands where?

To submit no details by PTI in foreign funding case clearly showed that there is something wrong.

ECP first of all reserved judgment with reference to party funding and then gave the last chance to PTI for filing details of party funding till September 18 .

Talking to media after case hearing in ECP, Counsel of Akbar S Babar said that PTI is not submitting its funding details for several years and wants to take stay order.

He said  today once again PTI failed in submitting any details of party foreign funding.

PTI counsel while talking to media said that PTI has clear record in regards with party funding and we have been ordered by high court to submit details within two weeks and we would file them before appointed time.
