ISLAMABAD: The country’s main Sui Gas company has failed to complete the projects in Punjab province despite receiving funds of Rs 7.53 billion.

The sources have disclosed that Sui Northern Gas Pipelines (SNGPL) had received Rs 7.53 billion funds for the complication of different sui-gas projects of Punjab province but it utilized allocated funds on other projects and failed to complete the due sui-gas projects.

Sources said that deposed Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had given approval of different sui-gas projects worth billion of rupees for the constituencies of PML-N members of NA and Punjab assemblies in Punjab province.

However, soon after the Panama alarming disclosers Nawaz Sharif had directed the finance ministry to issue additional grant of Rs 7.53billion to petroleum ministry for the completion of incomplete sui-gas schemes. Funds had been issued in March but the sui-gas sachems hadn’t complete yet.

Sources said that the administration of Sui Northern company hadn’t utilized allocated funds in due schemes and showed it in its annual profit so that company shares would remain intact.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had also sought report in this regard.

It was worth mentioned here that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had also established a cell under additional secretary Babar Bharwana for the intime completion of these schemes but this cell had inactive after his disqualification.
