Now the poor man will have his own home: PM

ISLAMABAD, April 08 (Online): Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has said now the poor person will have his own home and what they are paying as rent under this scheme they will pay this rent as installments and they will become owner of their homes.

PM performed the groundbreaking of Farash Town apartments in Islamabad on Thursday under Naya Pakistan Housing program.
Later addressing the ceremony, the Prime Minister said our all efforts have met success in providing loans on easy installments and people will get their own homes in Farash town within two years.
When people go to bank for obtaining small loans then they have to face too much difficulties, he said adding these difficulties are still in the banks and we are removing them.

I congratulate CDA that they have worked hard in connection with this program. People go to CDA for permission and the maps were not approved therein, he held. They demanded money from the people but now such things are not happening therein.

He remarked the preparations of Kartarpur was also made within record time and Farash town flats will be prepared on this pattern. First two thousands flats will be provided to people from middle class. These homes will be provided to those people who are living in rented homes. They could never think that they would own homes in Islamabad. Homes will be provided to welders, mechanics, laborers and farmers . All the schemes are being worked out for these people.

He observed that government is providing subsidy amounting to Rs 3 lac on every home. No one has ever thought about Kachchi abadis. The abadis are mushrooming. There are 40 percent kachchi abadis in Karachi and lslamabad too has such abadis. We will give ownership rights to the dwellers of these abadis. We are striving to provide all amenities therein. CDA has evolved a major plan about what we want to provide them.
He said he will soon perform groundbreaking of peri-urban housing society for the farmers.
The Prime Minister said a plan has also been prepared to convert the slums and equip them with the modern facilities including that of sanitation and sewerage. He said the slum dwellers will be given houses on proprietary rights.
He said the mortgage facility has been introduced to provide loans to the people on easy installments so that they could construct the houses. He said negotiations are continuing with the banks to remove any impediments.
The Prime Minister regretted that the economy was mismanaged in the past. He said such loans were taken in the past which instead of wealth creation further increased the burden of loans.
Imran Khan said the government is focusing on wealth creation projects to retire the country’s debt. He said these include Ravi City and Central Business District in Lahore whilst negotiations are being held with the Sindh government to develop the Bundal Island. He was confident that these projects will attract massive investments.
He said the projects to be executed under Naya Pakistan Housing Program will also uplift the thirty industries allied with the construction sector.
Imran Khan expressed satisfaction over increased activity in the construction industry. He pointed out that the cement sale remained at record level last year while growth has also been witnessed in the tax collection which indicates the business activity has increased in the country.
Imran Khan said it is the first time that the country’s textile industry is witnessing a record boom. He said the small and medium enterprises will also be uplifted to increase their share in the economy.
Imran Khan said we have envisaged upgradation of railway line from Karachi to Peshawar. He said negotiations are also continuing to take the train service to the Central Asian States to promote regional trade.

He underlined that FBR has collected the largest amount of tax last month which means our business have expanded and people are paying taxes and wealth is coming to us.

He pointed out that even my ministers donot know under what financial constraints we have spent the last two years.
