Islamabad – June 8 (Online): The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday while giving remarks during hearings of KPK martyrs package case stated that it is unable to understand the policy of incumbent KPK govt.
The case was heard by a three-member bench headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial.
The Additional Attorney General KPK while giving arguments said that KP govt made amendments to the martyr package in 2010, and the renewed package was awarded to those who were martyred after 2004.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah raised question that what about those who were martyred before 2004? We can’t understand KP govt’s policy.
The Additional Advocate General maintained that packages were awarded to those who were martyred before 2004, but the awarded money was 5 lac rupees. The Peshawar High Court had ordered to award 30 lacs for each martyr, which was even not requested by the families of martyrs.
The KP govt had challenged PH verdict in SC.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan while issuing notice to families of martyrs adjourned the court.
