Govt achieves milestone of administering corona virus vaccine to 10 million people

ISLAMABAD, June 09 (Online): Minister for planning Asad Umar has said government has achieved the mile stone of vaccinating 10 million people against COVID-19 epidemic.

He appealed to people to get them vaccinated as soon as possible so that the restrictions s could be relaxed.

Talking to media men in a ceremony held here under National Command and Operation Centre |NCOC) here Wednesday he said the government has set the target of vaccinating 70 million people by the end of this year.

He disclosed that about 3 lac people are vaccinated daily. He appealed to people to get register them at every cost so that the coronavirus could be prevented from spreading. The threat is not averted so far. Still 3000 people are on ventilators. Government wants cooperation from the people. So that we could fight against the virus together.

He pointed out that people in the age bracket of above 18 years are being vaccinated. The citizens can get them register by sending their national identity card number at 1166.

He told the journalists that adult vaccination centers have been set up across the country. All the vaccination process is being controlled through digital mechanism. 189 centers have been set up in Punjab, 14 in Sindh, 280 in KP, 44 in Balochistan, 14 in Islamabad, 25 in Azad Kashmir and 16 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
