Resolution of Kashmir dispute as per UN Resolutions imperative for regional peace: COAS

RAWALPINDI , August 05 (Online): Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said resolution of Kashmir dispute as per the UN Resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people is imperative for enduring peace and stability in the region.
In a statement on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal, he said continuation of inhuman military siege, machinations to bring demographic changes and gross violations of human rights and international laws are perpetuating humanitarian and security crises in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) that imperils regional security.

DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar released a message of Army Chief General Qamar Javed on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal from his official Twitter handle.
Bajwa, in his message, said that lasting peace in the region is not possible without resolving the dispute as per the aspirations of Kashmiris.
“Resolution of Kashmir dispute as per UN Resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people is imperative for enduring peace and stability in the region,” he added.
The Army Chief also said that the worst state repression and the inhumane military siege continues in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K), serious violations of human rights and international law are taking place in Occupied Kashmir while efforts are being made to change the geographical and population ratio.
