We have to build the Pakistan of Jinnah and Bhutto in which every citizen is equal, Sherry Rehman


Federal Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman says that Shaheed Bhutto’s constitution considers minorities as equal citizens, we have to make Jinnah and Bhutto’s Pakistan, in which every citizen is equal.

Sherry Rehman has said in a statement released on social media that the Quaid-e-Azam made a historic speech to the first Constituent Assembly of Pakistan on 11 August 1947.

Sherry Rahman further wrote in his tweet that Jinnah founded a Pakistan where the majority and minority get equal rights.

Sherry Rehman said that in 2009, former President Asif Zardari had announced the celebration of National Day of Minorities on August 11.

Sherry Rehman said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto made the rights and freedoms of minorities a part of the constitution in 1973, Shaheed Ms. Benazir Bhutto paid special attention to the rights of minorities in 1988.

He further wrote that Quaid-e-Azam stressed on equality, harmony and progressive thinking, protection of minorities, ensuring their rights and freedoms is the constitutional and national duty of the state and every citizen.
