IHC issues notice to Shahzad Gill on petition filed by government against rejection of its plea for extension in physical remand

ISLAMABAD (Muhammad Basahrat) Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notice to Shahbaz Gill on the petition filed by the government against rejection of its plea seeking extension in physical remand of Shahbaz Gill.

The petition filed by the government against rejection of its plea in connection with extension of physical remand of Shahbaz Gill came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by the acting Chief Justice (CJ) Amir Farooq Monday.

Advocate General (AG) Islamabad Barrister Jahangir jadoon and investigation officer in the case appeared in the court.

AG Islamabad told the court that Shahbaz Gill targeted institutions of the country in a statement on a private TV channel and government took its serious notice and registered case.

On inquiring AG Islamabad informed the court about the decisions of the subordinate court.

Justice Amir Farooq remarked this is fact your review petition was dismissed. Secondly the physical remand has ended. First of all give arguments on the maintainability of review petition against the decision of judicial magistrate.

Counsel Raja Rizwan Abbasi while giving references to decisions of different courts in his arguments told the court the review petition against the decision of the judicial magistrate is maintainable.

The court while issuing notice to Shahbaz Gill adjourned the hearing of the case till Tuesday.
