IHC constitutes larger bench to hear PTI petition against election commission decision in prohibited funding case

Islamabad High Court (IHC) has constituted larger bench to hear PTI petition against the decision of Election Commission (EC) in prohibited funding case.

The PTI petition against the decision of EC in prohibited funding case came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by acting Chief Justice of IHC Amir Farooq Tuesday.

Advocate General (AG) Islamabad and president Bar Shoaib Shaheen appeared in the court.
Counsel for PTI Anwar Mansoor argued the accounts about which PTI provided information are not there in the decision. Election Commission was told that information about certain accounts are not necessary due to some reasons. Some amount was sent to provincial heads of the party out of central accounts. Election commission be restrained from taking any action against PTI.

The acting CJ IHC remarked as far as I remember this case is first of this nature after Wali Khan case. Reference was sent in that case and in this case reference has not been sent so far. I send the case to larger bench. We fix it for hearing whenever you say.

IHC while issuing notice to the respondents adjourned the hearing of the case.
