PM approved appointments of new ambassadors to foreign countries


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday approved appointments of new ambassadors to foreign countries.
The Prime Minister affirmed appointments on the basis of Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto’s recommendations, it emerged. Sources privy to matter revealed that Foreign Office’s Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmed has been appointed as Pakistan’s ambassador to France, while another top bureaucrat from foreign ministry, Faisal Niaz has been appointed to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to sources, Raza Bashir Tarar has been appointed to Japan, while Salman Shareef will represent Pakistan in neighboring India.
Additional Secretary to Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Ayesha Farooqui will be appointed to Ireland, sources revealed, adding that Ali Javed will work as Pakistan’s envoy to Italy.
Moreover, Asif Memon will be appointed in Hungary, Junaid Yousaf in Turkiye, while Amir Aftab Qureshi has been nominated as Pakistan’s envoy to Greece.
